Erica England

Erica England (pronouns she/her) is a Strategic Partnerships Coordinator at Unemployed Workers United (UWU). She is from Raleigh, North Carolina and from a West African immigrant background. From humble beginnings she learned early on about how access to resources impacts communities, and how that translates into politics. She began a political journey as a student activist at Howard University while interning for the progressive non-profit, Our Revolution. She became a student ambassador for DC Statehood fighting for equal voting rights in the District of Columbia. She then joined the Bernie 2020 Presidential campaign in 2019 as an Operations Manager for the National office. She also organized a student-led Bernie group on Howard’s campus, which eventually became an active YDSA chapter. Afterwards, she continued to organize black youth communities and worked as the Manager of Production and Community Engagement for the Hello Somebody Podcast with Senator Nina Turner. She has a passion for helping people recognize the power they hold to improve their lives and those around them.
