Harinee Suthakar (pronouns: she/her) is a national organizer at UWU. She has roots in Chennai, India, grew up in New Jersey and has called Pennsylvania home since 2012. Since the onset of COVID-19, she has been supporting the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee, a project of the United Electrical Workers Union and the Democratic Socialists of America, to support non-union workers to organize their workplaces for safety, racial justice and dignity and train workplace organizers across the country.
Most recently, she was the Biden-Harris campaign’s Pennsylvania Asian American and Pacific Islander deputy coalition director. Previously, she was a Bernie 2020 national distributed organizer, working with volunteers who enabled supporters to host nearly 58,000 events in their communities. In her free time she enjoys biking and playing tennis.
