Tania Millan

Tania Millan (she/her) is the Director of Finance at Unemployed Workers United (UWU). With over a decade of professional experience in the non-profit sector, Tania’s career includes areas of expertise in Finance, Administration, and Human Resources.

Tania believes there is no greater reward than knowing you are contributing and making a difference in the lives of others. Her lived experiences as an undocumented immigrant and the first member of her family to graduate college, keeps her grounded and vested in working for the needs of underrepresented communities. Prior to joining UWU, she was the Director of Finance & Administration at the Wage Justice Center, a legal aid organization combating wage theft. Tania began her community involvement by volunteering at an early age, and later worked for the community-based organization, the Institute of Popular Education of Southern California (IDEPSCA). There she gained a deep connection to social and economic justice movements. But Tania’s initial social justice motivator is her mother, who was a street vendor and pioneer in organizing the Pasadena Street Vendors, and successfully helped initiate the first legal street vending program in that city.
